Climate Cats Kickstarter

So I am super excited – and a little nervous – to announce that I’m running a Kickstarter!!

I’m aiming to fund the first 4 elements – Fire, Earth, Air and Water with the initial campaign goal of £1,500, with additional exciting pins unlocked as stetch goals.

The more we raise, the more designs will be put into production!

Please head to the pre-launch page to give the campaign a follow and be notified on launch!

This is an all-or-nothing campaign, so you won’t be charged right until the end of the campaign.

Early bird prices will be available for the first 24 hours – tiers are available for all of the designs so pledge straight away to get the best deal, and increase the chance of all the pins getting unlocked!

By pledging in this campaign you can bring these amazing designs to life whilst helping to support my small business, for which I will be forever grateful!

I thought it would be fun to do a little exclusive Work in Progress for my subscribers!

The Air Cat was one of the first designs I started working on, I had the idea of it lying on a cloud, with a fluffy puffy tail.

Here were some of my earlier experiments:

I started after drawing the cat’s outline I started messing around with elements like wings and cloud placement.

At this stage I started to experiment with colour – as you can see I went through a huge number of options!

At this point I came to my senses and realised that the wings were a bit weedy and not very impressive, so I redid them so they were more of a feature, and simplified the tail so it looked a bit more like ‘air’.

I was still a bit uncertain about the design at this point.

One thing I really liked about it is the potential for it to be a memorial pin – I have it in the back of my mind that I might do colour variations.

However the lying down aspect felt jarring alongside the other pins which were all quite active and full of movement.

So I decided to keep the wings, tail and cloud but redo the body so the cat looked like it is dancing on air!

After printing it out at scale (along with the other pins in the campaign) to decide the final size, the design was complete!

I hope you enjoyed this little look behind the scenes!

Please do follow the pre-launch page for updates and to be the first to know when we go live!
